WHO WE ARE
MPOWER is a solutions driven, local economic development organization for McAlester and Pittsburg County, Oklahoma. As a private non-profit (501(c)6 organization, MPower promotes economic growth through the business retention, expansion, and attraction of new investment to our area.
WHAT WE DO
Our scope of services includes: Market McAlester and Pittsburg County to new business within the manufacturing and retail industries,
- House and maintain key information on the city and county (such as demographic information and the area's available sites and buildings),
- Respond to Requests for Proposals from site locators and companies looking for new sites,
- Manage a formal Business Retention & Expansion Program, which provide response and customer service to existing businesses in McAlester and Pittsburg County,
- Serve as the business liaison between private business and local, state, and federal government,
- Partner with other local community and business organizations to improve McAlester and achieve a pro-business environment for the area (such as strengthening and supporting the local workforce).
